The top speed is 216 miles an hour. It’s just absolutely crazy,” said Gerald Wood, General Manager of Ford Canada Western Region.“We’ve committed to build it for four years. The numbers for Canada will be quite small but we’re excited for every single one of them that comes here. It’s going to be great.”Prospective owners have to apply to buy one and even then, they have to commit to not re-selling it for another two years.Ford has also brought along an ergonomic specialist to the show, allowing onlookers to wear either a pregnancy suit or ‘Third Age Suit.’Both are items that engineers wear so they can design their vehicles with the pregnant or elderly driver in mind.“It’s the old saying about walking a mile in someone’s shoes to understand where they’re coming from,” said Interaction and Ergonomic Specialist Cary Diehl.“What we try and do in any vehicle we engineer (is) we want to do design for 95 per cent of the people who are going to purchase it, to ensure they’re going to be very comfortable.”The Calgary International Auto and Truck Show continues at BMO Centre until Sunday. auto show|Calgary|Ford|YYC
