Hector John (file photo).Parliamentary Representative for the Salisbury constituency and Opposition Leader Hector John says statements by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit that he has failed to effectively represent the people of his constituency in and out of parliament is unfortunate.Prime Minister Skerrit lashed out against the Salisbury MP for not bringing the challenges of the people of Salisbury to the fore.Skerrit told the media that Hector John has failed to effectively represent the people of Salisbury in and out of parliament.He said John has failed to bring the challenges of the people of Salisbury to the fore.But Hector John says his representation in his constituency has been effective. “It is unfortunate for the prime minister to make that statement I am always in my constituency. I am always on the ground. I am always in my village. What got the prime minister mad is when a local television station showed the deplorable state of the farm access roads in Salisbury,” he said.He said it showed that the government hnd neglected agriculture totally.“Farmers couldn’t access their farms because of the poor deplorable access roads. I am only the MP for over a year but the former parl-rep Earl Williams had been asking for assistance. We have not seen anything,’ he added.John said further that the constituency has been treated unfairly by the DLP government because of their lack of support to the Dominica Labor Party.
