Photo credit:lazytechguys.comShannon Oden who was facing charges for wounding Odillon Thomas in 2009 has been given an opportunity to turn a new leaf in his life after having his matter was been discontinued against him on Tuesday.Shannon Oden who was charged for wounding Odillon Thomas in 2009 had that matter discontinued against him on Tuesday.The victim, Odillon Thomas informed Justice Birnie Stephenson-Brooks in Court that he wanted “the matter dismissed for personal reasons”.Justice Stephenson-Brooks questioned Thomas as to whether he was forced, beaten, promised any money or paid any money and he answered “no”.She further probed him as to whether he made that decision on his own and he said “yes”.Thomas was warned by Justice Stephson-Brooks that once the matter has been dismissed he could not return and ask for it to re-commence and he answered that he understood.Shannon Oden who wounded Thomas apologized to him in Court and expressed gratitude for the gesture.“I just want to tell him thank you for doing that for me please and if I could apologize to him in front of everybody. I am sorry for harming you if it’s possible and I’m sorry; I’ll never do it again. Thank you”.Justice Stephenson-Brooks advised him to let this be a learning experience for him.“Don’t let yourself get into any tussle with anybody; walk away. If you get vex, fold your hands and walk away, getting into trouble does not pay”.She cautioned him further to “walk a tight rope” as the police know him and have his fingerprints on file.
