Police Investigating Drive-by Shooting On I-74

first_imgHARRISON – Police are on the hunt for suspects believed to be involved in the shooting a driver on I-74 near Harrison Sunday.The 22-year-old victim was shot in the chest while driving on the interstate just east of Dry Fork Road around 6 p.m. The man was able to drive himself to a BP gas station on Dry Fork Road and ask a clerk for help.The man has been hospitalized at University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment.Authorities are investigating the incident, which was initially reported as a case of road rage.Two suspects believed to have been in a four-door Chevrolet Malibu are sought by police.last_img read more

KILLYBEGS TO GET MORE THAN €4M FOR UPGRADE OF HARBOUR

first_imgKillybegsMore than €4 million has been allocated in funding for the upgrade of Killybegs Harbour.Minister Joe McHugh TD welcomed today’s confirmation from the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney T.D, that Killybegs is to receive €4.135 million in funding.“The funding will be used for: Repairs to Blackrock/Auction Hall Piers; Small Craft Harbour; Smooth Point Pier Development; Landing Pier Fendering; Landing Pier Electrical Design/Works; Boatyard investment. “A total of €18mwas allocated by the Minister for this year’s Fishery Harbour and Coastal Infrastructure Capital Programme. €16m has been set aside towards safety, maintenance and new development works, including at Killybegs. The remaining €2m will be made available for a Local Authority Harbour Programme, which will assess specifically what is required to address storm damage at Local Authority owned fishery harbours.”Minister Coveney said, “This year’s programme is significant on a number of fronts, firstly it provides for the continuation of this Governments strategy to develop and improve the facilities at our fishery harbours in 2016.
